The 30th AQPC Symposium will take place in Sherbrooke for 2009 from June 2-4 with the theme Knowledge and Experience - A Winning Combination. The AQPC chose this title to underline one of the major qualities of college education, the synergy between knowledge and experience. Monday April 20 2009
Terry Anderson on Learning in Open Groups, Networks and Collectives
Raymond Cantin, Project Manager - English network, La Vitrine Technologie-Éducation

Here is a podcast featuring Dr. Terry Anderson, professor and Canada Research Chair in Distance Education at Athabasca University, Canada’s Open University (34,000 students).

Mr. Anderson offered, last March 19, a keynote presentation called “Learning to Learn in Open Groups, Networks and Collectives” at the MATI conference at Université de Montréal.

In this interview, we go through his presentation, and he tells me how networks, social media and informal learning should be considered as part of people’s learning experience.

Terry Anderson

I called him at Athabasca University in Alberta, did the phone interview computer through computer with Skype (no long distance fees), recorded the call with CallGraph and edited the interview with Audacity. All three softwares are free and Open Source.

La Vitrine Technologie-Éducation‘s mission is to promote and provide support for teachers and educational advisors in the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Quebec’s college network. We produce a bi-weekly newsletter which highlights the latest innovations in the field of ICT and learning.

After listening to the podcast, we would be pleased to know what you thought of the content of the podcast.

Thanks
Your post was most helpful in learning how to record and disseminate an interview. The interview itself was very well done and I plan to listen to it again. I also appreciate your link to Terry's Slide Share presentation which presented concepts in a very "user-friendly" fashion. Maryanne Burgos
