External Site Referral

Definition of Certain Terms:

Space:

Space for webhosting attributed to the user of the Profweb server. Management of this space requires a user name and user password.

External Site:

Site hosted elsewhere than the Profweb Personal Space. A link to this site is published in the Profweb Personal Space's List of Sites.

Site Listing:

Publication of information about an External Site in Profweb's Personal Space List of Sites. An address in the Personal Space is attributed to this site which automatically redirects the user to the original site address. The information about the site in Profweb's List of Sites is managed by Profweb.

1. Acceptance of User Agreement

Welcome to the Personal Space of Profweb.

An External Site Listing in the Personal Space requires an acceptance of the User Agreement on the part of the future user.

2. Description of Service

The Personal Space of Profweb is open to teachers and other staff of the Quebec College Network to host sites for educational purposes. Furthermore, the Personal Space can also be used for External Listings of educational sites.

The information in these External Listings will be included in the Profweb Personal Space's List of Sites.

3. Registration

The information necessary to identify and describe a site is required for an External Site Listing in Profweb's Personal Space. You must furnish exact information and keep it up-to-date.

4. Personal Information

Certain information such as an email address provided during registration of non-public personal spaces will be treated in conformity with legislation on the protection of personal information.

5. Respect of Editorial Policy

The content of your public site must respect Profweb's Editorial Policy, particularly in terms of online content.

Information limiting human rights shall be considered in violation of the Conditions of Use, notably the following:

• Content that is racist, incites violence or ethnic division;
• Content that is hateful, defamatory or injurious in nature;
• Sexist content.

The External Site Listing on Profweb's Personal Space must be of a non-commercial nature.

The description of a site for purposes of an External Site Listing gives Profweb the right to reproduce, publish and broadcast within any of its sections. This right is in force as long as the External Site Listing is maintained.

Modification of published information is possible by contacting Profweb's technical support.

6. Inactive Sites

In order to maximize the use of the Personal Space, users must agree to maintain activity on a site that has an External Listing. Any site remaining inactive for a period of 12 months will be delisted by Profweb.

In the thirty days following a warning of deactivation, you must make known your intentions to Profweb's technical support staff. Failing to do so will result in the delisting of your site.

If you cease to teach within the provincial college network (due to retirement or any other reason), you have six months following your departure to obtain authorization to maintain your External Listing. Failing to obtain such authorization will result in delisting.

7. Termination of Service

The user can remove their site from Profweb at any time by communicating with Profweb's technical support.

Any user who terminated service can reactivate their listing  by making a new application of an External Site Listing to Profweb.

8. Profweb's Responsibilities

Profweb cannot be held responsible for indirect damages caused by the use of a site linked through an External Listing.
