Freeware, also known as “public domain software”, is becoming more and more popular. But what is it, exactly? Contrary to popular belief, freeware exists for Windows and Macintosh —not only for Linux. Beyond copyright issues and opposition to commercial monopolies, what types of products are accessible and useful for teachers? This workshop provides an overview of the essentials, and examines several particularly interesting tools. |
