Workshop description
How do you find teaching and learning resources online without undertaking a long and complex search? Numerous sites from the world of education have their own classification systems which can make it difficult to find resources for a specific need. NORMETIC is the Quebec profile of the LOM (Learning Object Metadata) standard. How can we adapt resources to make them compatible with the standard and share them with the network? Eureka, developed by the Vitrine APO, is a storehouse of selected resources designed to help locate and index works developed by colleges, in a way that facilitates access and distribution.
By the same token, the profweb portal, a crossroads of IT college resources, is designed to meet the expanding needs of teachers within the college network. It provides access, and a single location on the Internet, to resources which can be useful in teaching and learning activities, as well as in the support of the management of IT integration. Resources include news, folders, educational practices, events and professional development activities offered by various groups or organizations interested in IT integration within the college network. Profweb is intended to be a driving force within the COLLEGE network: a tool to inform and motivate, and to encourage collaboration within the network. Its mission is to establish a community of practice.
