The authors decided to replace the traditional student books and grammar books used in their classes with material from the Net. All in all it was a wonderful experience in creativity, but because they ended up doing both the teaching and writing, time became an issue. Whether they repeat the experience depends on the publication du jour.

PowerPoint allows Karen Tee to do some things that help students learn, and it’s so much more interesting, for both her and the students! Although doing PowerPoint slides right requires a lot of preparation, the results make all the work worthwhile.

Maggie McDonnell discovered that her Liberal Arts students had started a program specific Facebook page even before they entered college. Some students felt that the Facebook page was a more reliable way of staying on schedule with their homework than an agenda and that the Facebook page was an excellent way of catching up after missing one or several classes or getting additional information about concepts not totally mastered in the classroom.

Information technology is not as essential to teaching an application such as Maya, a complex 3D software using animation, modeling and dynamics, as one would think, but sophisticated software such as this is acquiring a role in social media outside of the classroom.

Shelagh Robinson's classes have been enriched by technology at all levels. Using simple technology can be sophisticated and transformative. Adding information technology to the mix does not diminish the value of simpler illustrations.

One of the challenges facing Patricia Murphy is how to make student feedback explicit - both to herself and amongst her students. Wordle struck her as a great tool to capture the collective voice of students and she has used it as a way to help students contribute to a positive classroom environment.

Students at College Brébeuf are currently communicating with students from UNISINOS a university near the city of Porto Alegre in Brazil using Skype. Although the process has not been without technical problems, when the Brazilians in this program visit Montreal, they will be arriving among friends whose common interests and important differences can be better experienced and understood.

Students are unfortunately often shy about saying when they haven't understood something in class. Using clickers to ask if they've understood gets results. There are some issues where students will only reveal their views anonymously through clickers as well.
